CAMQG 2017 Group Project

This year the CAMQG will start a series of group projects!  Here are the basics:
  • We will make two complete quilts and one top throughout the year
  • The first quilt will be donated to Quilts of Valor and presented to a veteran
  • The second quilt will be donated to an organization of our choosing
  • The quilt top will go to a member who has participated in the group projects via a drawing in December
    • For each block donated you receive a chance to win
    • If you help with piecing the top you receive 2 chances to win
    • If you do the quilting you receive 5 chances to win
    • If you do the binding you will receive 3 chances to win
    • If you make the binding you will receive a chance to win

Getting started with the first quilt:
  • The first quilt will be donated to Quilts of Valor
  • Color pallet: red, white and blue
    • Please be sure to test your red and blue fabrics to ensure they are color fast
  •  Kona Snow has been provided for the background
  • Block design: Wonky star - a carryover from last year's sampler
  • Block size: 12.5 inches and 8.5 inches
  • Please be sure that there is at least 1/2" of white beyond the points for piecing
  • Blocks are due at the February meeting
  • The design and sewing of the quilt top will take place between the February and March meeting
  • The top will go to the quilter and binder by the March meeting
  • The goal is to have the finished quilt ready for showing at the April meeting

Happy Quilting!
