Karen was in the Member Spotlight this month. She said knew she wanted to do something fun when she retired six years ago, but she was busy taking care of her grandkids. Now that they are in school she has more time to sew and quilt. She says she likes the creativity of it.
Inspired by one of the guild's 2018 Blocks of the Month, she made a baby quilt and asked our opinion about how to quilt in the blank space. Members liked the idea of quilting the log cabin design in white thread, but we'll see what Karen decides to do!
Another crowd pleaser was a small project made from the Little Twister template. She says that there is a mistake in it because she got cocky and thought she was smarter than the directions. No one could see the mistake and she didn't want to point it out.
Karen showed some works in progress including the first step in picking bargello fabrics. She says she felt wild that day!
Because she is also interested in sewing, she shoe us a tunic in progress made the the pattern in The Tunic Bible.
Going with the theme of unofficial bag night, she also showed her bag, which was made from the Quicker Tote pattern. She said that she thought it wasn't very quick! She also showed the unique hanging pocket and handle designs.
