Program
Our Program tonight was provided by Donna, she demonstrated the Full Line Stitch porducts of iron off marking and everyone got a free bee pencil. She also demonstrated how to make a microwaveable fabric bowl.
Sew and Share
Gay Weigand showed a quilt where each block was
quilted differently. The pattern is "Playground" from the book Simple Retro with Camille Roskelley. She also shared a bag she had just finished.
Grace Hoyt made a wall hanging of half square
triangles in an asymmetrical layout. The pattern is from the All People Quilt
website. She made the quilt to improve her half square triangle skills after
taking a class in May.
Cordell Affeldt made a quilt from her stash of
fabrics left over from other projects. She thought more negative space would
make it more modern.
Nancy King showed her award winning quilt. The
pattern is Deconstructed Lone Star by Carolyn Murfitt. She used the Quilt Smart
Foundation to piece the lone star. The quilt won best Machine Quilting at
the York Quilt Guild show.
Nancy also brought in the new Oowhee Slip Free
rulers. They have a special coating on one side to keep them from slipping on
your fabric. You shout Oowhee when you try them!
Cindy Wolfe made a series of baby quilts using
the Curvalicious ruler by Cheryl Lynch. Using a 36” square of fabric for the
background she cut out from contrasting fabric the shape of the ruler and fused
it to the top and then button holed stitched along the raw edge.
Marla Wasson made a crazy quilt bag.
Debbie and Donna shared that they both have two quilts in the Hershey Quilt Show.
