May Meeting

May 17, 2022

Modern Moment: Debra shared some ideas of what we can do as quilters to help decrease our environmental impact. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Some things you can do are: unplug your sewing machine when not in use, use energy efficient lighting, reuse packaging, use up your scraps for a project in lieu of buying new material or check your local thrift store!

Our member spotlight tonight was presented by Gay. She shared her quilting journey with some awesome quilts and showed the wedding dress she made.

Presentation: Yoga for Quilters by Sharon

Sharon guided us through some stretching and yoga techniques keeping healthy bodies. We tend to forget our posture while doing things like sitting at our sewing machines, cutting and hand stitching. Remember to take a "Sew Break" frequently to help prevent injury.

 SEW BREAK
Stand up and Stretch
Swing your arms long
Shrug your shoulders way up and back
Squeeze your palms
Shake your hands
Sit down
