November Meeting

November Meeting

Sew and Share

Deb L made her business partner a quilt, called Circuits. She just finished it up last night!

Christina  showed us the  first quilt she ever made, she entered it into the Bloomsburg Fair, where she got third place.  It was an Instagram Challenge , where you made a block a day for 100 days. She arranged the blocks into a rainbow and was happy with her fussy cutting on the front. She was quite please with the back.

Sharon made a quilt for a friend using a design with trees. She googled trees and found a design which she reformatted on graph paper. Then she found the blog, marinandcolusa.com where the pattern could be found,  Meandering Pines. She bought all the batiks at Burkholders.

Marla shared her finished Covid project. It was a kit from Pin Wheels using OakShott fabrics which she hand quilted. She also shared a  sashiko sampler which she hopes to cut apart and make it into a wall hanging.

Kyla bought the fabric for this quilt at Halfmoon  Handwerks during our guild fundraiser.  The free pattern is Magic Boxes by Jordan fabrics.com. She was having trouble getting the
quilt under her machine and she was given some great advice from our members.

Maike told us she mostly enjoys hand quilting, but decided to get out her sewing machine out now that the weather has gotten colder. She used a “mystery jelly roll” and a pattern she wanted to try, but isn’t sure if she likes it.

Mickie finished a  Covid project, too. The pattern is called Brimfield Revival. It was a good traveling project for her. She has the templates if anyone is interested in them.

Evelyn requested selvages that are 1.5 – 2” wide for a selvage quilt demonstration she will be doing sometime in 2022.
