April Member Spotlights

Our members' Spot Light this month are Pat and Melanie. Here are a few of Pat's quilts, that she shared with us.

Pat began her quilting with this small quilt she made with her children.

She took a quilting class and made this.......

and later made a more modern version......

She took a couching class.

Her modern take of the Log Cabin Block.

And here are two more of her quilts she shared with us.

Melanie was our second member in the Spot Light.

She began quilting in kindergarten with her mom. She made this quilt out of jeans.

Here's her modern take on her first quilt.

Here is a quilt she made while an undergraduate at Ohio State.

Being from Wisconsin Melanie had to have a quilt from cow fabric.

Here's a quilt that hung in an art show at school.

Some reverse applique and echo quilting

Melanie had several T-shirt quilts to show us, too.

Thank you Pat and Melanie!

April Sew and Tell

Here's what CAMQG members have been up to!

Lois has started her Christmas early with this Cod Cardinal quilt. The design is based on a Charley Harper print. She found the pattern in American Quilter, November 2017.

Here's a Kaffee Stars pattern that she also sewed with Jordan's Fabrics using a free pattern.

She also made an Elizabeth Hartman Legendary Pattern which she is making for her brother.

Sigrid designed this beautiful T-Shirt design.....Eat, Sleep and Quilt.

Mary Ellen took a workshop sponsored by the York Quilt Guild to learn the Interleave Technique. The workshop was taught by Ann King. Mary Ellen told us that Ann will be offering this class at the York Quilt Guild's quilt show in May.

Melanie shared her Riley Blake Challenge. She was looking for some suggestions on the binding. Hope we gave you some ideas!

Marla showed us a beautiful baby quilt, Oh Boy. The pattern can be found in the May/June 2017 edition of Modern Patchwork on pages 28-33. The quilting was done by Mary Ellen.

And here's the back!

Cordell made this beautiful quilted jacket from her mother's tablecloth. She used a brayer to apply textile paint while it was basted. She later removed the basting to create the jacket.  The Tabula Rasa Jacket pattern  is by Rae Cumbie of Baltimore. Cordell tells us that the pattern offers a blank slate conducive to embellishments.

Cindy made this quilt using  the pattern Vintage from Cluck, Cluck, Sew.

Join us for some fun at our next meeting on Tuesday, May 15.
